What is Tambayan PH?
Tambayan PH is a community platform that brings Filipinos together. We built it because we saw a gap: a space where Filipinos could connect, share, and grow together.
I co-founded this with a clear division of responsibilities. My focus? Operations.
What I Handle
As the operations lead, I’m responsible for everything that keeps the platform running smoothly:
- Community operations and moderation workflows
- Process design for scaling without chaos
- Automation systems that handle the repetitive stuff
- Member experience from onboarding to engagement
The Challenge of Scaling Community
Growing a community is easy. Growing it well is hard.
More members means more moderation. More content means more curation. More engagement means more coordination.
The trap most communities fall into: throwing more hours at the problem. That doesn’t scale.
How We Solved It
We built systems instead of adding hours.
Every operational workflow got audited. The question was always the same: Can this be automated without losing the human touch?
Turns out, a lot can:
- Routine moderation decisions
- Content scheduling
- New member welcomes
- Event reminders
- Basic support triage
The stuff that can’t be automated? That’s where we focus our energy.
The Result
Operations that used to take hours now take minutes. But more importantly, the community feels more responsive.
Because when you’re not buried in admin work, you can actually be present for your members.
